First Impression: Kanon

Welcome to the garbage! This was SO much garbage in so little time. The character cast is all the same: We take the boy, put it in a surrounding of only girls, and let the boy just be like the character Kyon of the Melachony of Haruhi Suzumiya. Well that’s clear, it’s the most corny character ever.
Don’t get me started about the girls! They are all damsels in distress that can’t do a thing on their own and get angry with the most idiotic reasons and get them cry for NOTHING. And they are a bunch of whinies. Ad something like nostalgia and VOILA: Kanon is born.
Don’t touch this garbage, even with a 10 foot long broomstick.
Edit: Due to the comment I feel I have to edit this post as well. And no, I’m not 15, I just made a quick post because I felt I have to write something. I have to say, this is really funny. I make a negative post about a popular anime, and right the same day, I get already these nice comments.^^
Let me get this clear. I dislike this anime. I find this an insult for woman, look at all the girls that have been in the picture now. They are all girls that you wouldn’t find this day, they are weak, they are completly dependent of the boy. I mean, come on with the character Ayu! Don’t you all think that it’s a bit weird? I suppose that girl is a year of 13 or something like that. And then when she wants to buy something, she runs away because she has no money and then clungs to a total stranger. I find it absurd. The characters are unreal. Especially the girls.
Furthermore I have major problems with the OP and the music. I fell in sleep while I listened to it. And of course, the eyes of the girls. I know that they tried to make it look cute, but to this, it’s too much.
My conclusion is simple: I stay away from this anime. Sure, if you say that it’s good, I believe. But it isn’t good for me. I find it garbage. Just like the Melachony of Haruhi Suzumiya. If it turns out to be good, I will watch it and write an apology post about this one;) But all this reminds me of the time that I critized Utawarerumono episode 16.^^ I even consider to blog this anime. But that would a bit too much.^^

Show me you have a heart and I’ll show you, with the flares of a thousand suns, the charms of Kanon.

What are you, 15?
This is like a troll post for Animeblogger antenna.
Re-write this post with concise and plausible reasoning in regards to your dislike of Kanon, not this “Kan0n sux LOL!11!” stuff.
You will then proceed to write on the blackboard, 100 times “I will not troll Animeblogger”.

Heh, it’s funny to see how people react when their precious Kanon gets bashed. ^^

@ Baka-kun:
Somehow, I find your comment a bit inappropriate. You say of me that I’m trolling this, but I’m not the one who can’t controle the mouse button.. I think I don’t have to say more about that.
And furthermore, you are overreacting. Did you see in my post ‘Kan0n sux LOL!!11′ stuff?’. Could you please tell me? I know I have to work on my writing style, but DUDE, stop overreacting. I’m allowed to say that this anime is garbage, because I didn’t find this episode any special.
But I have to say, these comments are hilarious.^^

I overreacted a bit, I’ve just grown tired of reading xxxx-suxs posts without any proper analysis of the shows flaws or merits.
I watched the original series and found it clichéd and boring as hell for the most part. There were a few parts of the story that had merit and were intriguing, but not enough to push me to recommend the series.
Kanon 2006 seems to me too be pretty much more of the same; however while the unappealing character designs are faithful to the game (slightly down-syndrome like), the animation is godly. In fact the quality is so good it seems like Kyoani has stopped just trying to be the best and is now simply showing off. I’ll continue to watch this series just for the Studio Ghibli like quality.
The reason I took offense with your post was not because of your opinion on the enjoyability of Kanon 2006 (aside from the animation quality it’s definitely not my cup of tea), but because it seemed to be formulated simply to elicit a negative reaction from fans of the story.

timelessdreams: Sigh, there’s a very good reason for clingy/penniless Ayu. And you are missing the whole cultural aspect. You obviously haven’t met the typical sweet, clingy Asian girl, especially of Japanese/Taiwanese origin. True, Kanon girls are exaggerations of real girls but they are not impossibilities as you say. Open your mind to cultural diversities before making bigoted comments as such.
psgels: You missed the point too. As Baka-kun mentioned it’s not the bashing but the groundlessness and mindless manner it was dispensed. It’s akin to dissing your writing on Star Crossed because you have a non-descript banner.

@Baka-kun: I understand why you were offended by my post, that’s why I rewrote this one. In my opinion, the animation isn’t that good either. I find those eyes a bit too much, and they remind me much of the anime of Haruhi Suzumiya. I just can’t understand what on earth is so incredible good on that anime. Just like I can’t understand why this is considered as a good anime.
@Alastor: No I haven’t met a typical, sweet clingy Asian girl. I don’t know how those girls are, and it might be a cultural aspect. But I can disagree with a culture. Some points in some cultures don’t make any sence in my opinion. I find those clingy girls way to much overdramatic and dependent. I don’t like those types, if they are boys if they are girls. I don’t like dependent characters in anime. In real life, I think if there is a good reason for those types to be so clingy and dependent, I think I can hold up with it. But there are things that I can’t see in anime, which I can in real life. And I think this is one of those things.
@Both: Thanks for the comments, I appreciate your statements that you have made here.
