First Impression: Deltora Quest

Oh dear. I love fantasy stories. Yes I really do. But this..The first remarkable point was the art. It was really weird, and I think I have to get used to that. Ad the fact that I was REALLY reminded of Lord of the Rings. This is a weak version of it, but only then in anime. Let’s look at the facts:
- The Ring is changed now in 7 gems. And a nice belt which gives you super powers when you wear it.
- Sauron is replaced by ‘Shadow Lord’. And! He has two red eyes. Nothing more. And of course his voice.
- The hero of this story is of course a midget. In Lord of the Rings the ‘midget’ (or call it a hobbit) is called Frodo, here it’s a 16-year-old-brat called Lief.
- Lief must save the world! Gosh! Where have I heard this before?
- The ‘orcs’ are now more human, but when you defeat them, they turn into ash. Interesting.
- But we don’t have ‘A Fellowship to collect the seven gems’. No we have only two guys, the brat and his guardian, let’s call him that way. And the girl is coming too. I’m sure of it.
- Ardin looks a lot like Isuldur…. Does that mean we get a anime-version Aragorn?^^..
- And what was that bloody sword called again? Nardin… No it wasn’t Nardin.. Anduril! I knew it. Yes, that bloody sword is now replaced by the belt. Also reforced. Well. Interesting.

I have always wanted to watch a Lord of the Rings in anime. I’m curious what’s going to happen. The intro was nice. It really reminded me of Lord of the Rings. And Lord of the Rings is good.

First Impression: Kyoshiro to Towa no Sora

I have to admit: This is the silliest, most annoying, corny, cheesy love story I have ever heard of. We have really a damsel in distress and she is as helpless as ever. Ad the fact that she is daydreaming about her first love and her prince all the time. Ad the fact that there is going to be a ball in her school. Ad the fact of a new transfer student. Ad the fact that he is really ‘pretty’. And they fall in love. Of course. And they kiss. Of course.

And with the cheesyness: The flowerfield and the white horse really overdid it. I have never seen such a stupid, overdramatic story. Ever in my life. The creators try to keep it elegant, but it’s so corny and cheesy that it isn’t elegant anymore. And with the sparkings, and the shining pretty things.. I just have to throw up because of it. Naah. I’m not really fit to watch romance anime. Eek! Just look at the picture. It’s almost a shame for really nice romantic stories like Howls Moving Castle. I’m never going to think of watching this garbage once again.

About me

I think it’s time to have a proper introduction. Okay. Here it is:
‘Kon’nichi wa! Watashi wa Sasja desu.’
As you can see, my real name is Sasja, I’m 18 years old and living in Amsterdam. At the moment I’m still a kookoo-sei, an High school student. I’m a real moron, but that doesn’t matter.^^ Here you have your introduction, and I would like to explain the blog for you now.

The main reason why I started to blog last year was that I kept forgetting in what I’ve al watched. I’m a clumps, and I keep forgetting things. Also the episodes that I watched. So I blogged, still in Dutch, every episode that I watched so I was reminded of what I was watching. I did that for a couple of months, but then it became clear that I had to double my class once again if my English marks didn’t improve. So I did something drastically. I moved my blog from the Dutch site to Timeless Dreams, translated a lot in English and started to write. And it did help, but not in the short time I had left in my schoolyear. I had to double the class, and decided that I should have spent more time for school, so the Timeless Dreams began to make less reviews and blogged less. Unfortunally. Also I moved in the end of 2006, that made it even more difficult to blog. That’s why I’m blogging a few times in the month But! The summer vacation is around the corner. Yatta!

What I love to see in anime is a bunch of morons, friendship and randomn cases. One of the big examples that changed my view in anime is the anime Fruits Basket. I’m a big fan of that one. That’s why I’m also fond of Gintama (seriously, how random can you get^^) Samurai Champloo, Lovely Complex, Yamato Nadeshiko Shigi Henge and Pani Poni Dash. Anything as long if there is a moron in the anime cast.
What I despise is the romance slice of live High schoolgirls. Seriously, I can’t stand it. I really can’t. You don’t have to come to me for a ‘moe-anime’, also not for fanservice and some really, really bloody stuff. I can’t handle bloody things. It’s a miracle I can sit through Claymore and even be enjoyed when I watch it.

With my anime reviews I basically pay attention to ten things:
- The story
- The main characters
- The side characters
- The drama
- The humour
- The music
- The art
- The originality
- And at last: My overal enjoyment of the anime.
Every anime can score for each thing ten points. And that’s how I make my notes. Sounds clear, doesn’t it?

In the future I’m also going to blog manga. Now, it’s not yet the time. I do follow some mangas, namely Fruits Basket (how predictable), Tsubasa and Yamato Nadeshiko Shigi Henge. For Fruits Basket I just want to know everything that isn’t told in the anime, for Tsubasa I just want to know everything that is not yet been told in the anime and Yamato is really different from the anime.

Also I have to mention that I have a weird habit to bash into populair anime that I dislike. I’ll blog it on purpose to critizise the hell out of it. I don’t know why, but I really, really enjoy that, and I don’t care that I get angry comments because of that. In fact, I even enjoy that!

So, I think this is the manual for my blog. I hope you can handle my weird style and read this blog often (just as often as I update) and I hope you will enjoy this blog.

Positive Energy,
Timeless Dreams.

First Impression: Venus Versus Virus

The first new anime that I have seen in ages. Yes. My school is really asking a lot of my spare time. I don’t believe I have a coming period of peace, so I have to put ‘Timeless Dreams’ on a hold. It’s a real shame.. but well, I have to go to school first. Anyway, before I keep on complaining.

Venus Versus Virus. The first moments I didn’t understand a bit of it. I thought we had two enemies, and they are fighting each other the whole time. One was good, one was supposed to be bad. When I saw the rest of the anime, I understood. I really understood. Sumire has an alterego, that means when she gets hit by a antivirus bullet, she becomes a killer machine.^^ That’s very interesting because normally she is really shy and scared and try to lure out a virus poking a tree with a stick.^^.

Ruchia is also interesting, with her eye. And I really oversee some yuri elements. That is really going to be nice. I’m going to watch it. For sure. I love the action, it’s not about who is the strongest. Strategy!

The Third 13 - Just shut up and watch!

I have never thought that the art of this episode could be so horrible. I knew that it was going to be bad, really bad, but to be this!? It almost took away the pleasure of the Third, but then I realised that the characters didn’t change at all. So I stayed tuned to it. And I’m not dissapointed.^^ This was really an intermezzo, to tell more of the cases of Honoka and Millie.

Millie isn’t doing well. She falls asleep during the class, and Paife says that it’s because an emotional problem. The time that she saw her father dying. Honoka is really worried about her, and because due her own reasons and stress, she decides that she should take Millie (and Ikus^^) on a vacation to see the nice things of the desert.

And of course, we have the new badguy. This time it’s a guy with lonely eyes and a dark aura. And knows of the eye of Honoka. I’m looking forward to the next episode. This one, except the art, was great. And especially when Ikus, Millie and Honoka were talking about skirts.^^

Utawarerumono 26 - The End! (Finally^^)

This was the last episode of this really weird anime. And now things really get strange! And when I mean strange, really strange. Dii and Hakuoro are fighting, and I really don’t understand it (once again), but it comes to the conclusion that Dii wants to guide people, and Hakuoro believes that they are an unneeded creature, because we have always the free will of people. People will move on by their own, and with this ‘thing’, Hakuoro and Dii are only creating pain and horror. Something like that. And Hakuoro is reminded of his past. NAMELY.

He and Mikoto have a daughter. But I don’t know if I can blame my own eyes, but she doesn’t quite eerr… look like Mutsumi. So we can conclude that he has another daugther, and that is Mutsumi. But who is this child then? Quite complicated. And why wasn’t it mentioned that he has TWO daugthers? Does he have more? Or something like that? After that, swearing that no ‘hardships may overcome this child’, they are captured and Mikoto is demoted. And also is his daugther. Hakuoro gets furious and kills off everyone in the lab. And after that, we see Mutsumi, sealing him towards the earth, because his fury was too great, and splitted him in two halves. WHY DON’T THEY LOOK LIKE EACH OTHER?! I don’t know if I’m the only one who thinks this way, but they don’t look like each other AT ALL. And why does only Hakuoro has the mask? And why does Dii have wings? And why didn’t Mutsumi take orders from Hakuoro in the beginning of episode 25. She is his daugther as well..?

Hakuoro made Dii and himself melt in one, once again, and asked Mutsumi and Utorii to seal him once again. And the final words towards everyone are spoken. And really, Kamyu is the daugther of Hakuoro! But.. Let me think. Because. Utorii is the SISTER of Kamyu. Who is her father?! … Or how many daugthers does Hakuoro have? And the things get even WEIRDER, because I believed that they already had a father..? And who is the mother? …
And of course the situation with Eruruu and Aruruu is even weirder. Aruruu calls Hakuoro ‘oto-san’, meaning her father. But at the end of the episode, Hakuoro confirmed that Eruruu is Mikoto, so the mother of Kamyu. And also then the mother of Utorii?… And if Aruruu and Eruruu are sisters, and Hakuoro is the father of Aruruu.. doesn’t it seem a bit weird for Eruruu to have something with him? Incest? I don’t want to think anything else.

After the kissing part, Hakuoro goes to sleep and everyone moves forward. I have never seen such a screwed up ending before. This doesn’t solve anything, because I only have more questions before I started watching the climax. That doesn’t seem so logical. Weird anime.

Utawarerumono 25 - The weirdest drama I have ever seen

This was really weird. Once again. Well. Let’s about it, but expect a short post. I have more to review, (you don’t want to know how much I have to see, and the new season is about to start O_O), so in summary: of course they are going to save Kamyu, and of course the whole bunch is going to save her. And of course something dramatically happens that separates Aruruu, Eruruu and our hero from the rest of the bunch. And of course, they meet Kamyu. When Aruruu appears in front of her eyes, she can’t obey her father anymore, because she loves the bunch so much. For Dii: Useless.

Now we had a really, really weird discussion. And with weird, I mean REALLY weird. I didn’t quite catch the whole discussion but it goes like this: Hakuoro and Dii are both playing for gods, and they support their followers, but Dii kills of his weak followers (?!?!) and Hakuoro doesn’t, but then Dii disagrees with him, because he made a contract with Eruruu, which forced her to be with Hakuoro, but Eruruu disagreed with that, because she was here because of her own will and… Heh. The bit I don’t understand is that the relations of the contract are so incredibly VAGUE.. A well, that’s not interesting for now. And then the real weirdness begins: Dii called Hakuoro his other self. How on earth is that possible?
- They don’t look like each other
- Why has only Hakuoro the honor of wearing the mask?
- Why is Dii an angel when Hakuoro isn’t?
- Why isn’t then Mitsumi the daughter of Hakuoro..? Wait! And didn’t Kamyu already have a father?!

And then the weirdness gets even better. Hakuoro starts to talk to Eruruu and Aruruu, and sets Eruruu free and begins about that they don’t know what his real name is. He makes the sentence: my real name is…
And he doesn’t say it -_-’. AAH comon! I was so looking forward to that part. And the two monsters are going to fight. How unexpected. Weird anime.
