Venus Versus Virus 8

This episode: Seeing the roles turned! Luchia without a spine and Sumire saving her!

Yes it’s true, and this anime is becoming more stupid by the second. Yatta^^. This episode wasn’t really anything special, it showed just the hatred of Luchia, and I had to laugh somehow because of it. Because it’s so ironical, that Sumire is in fact Lilith, the mother of Luchia. Further the logic of this anime doesn’t really make much sense and every character in this episode was just being reckless.

Luchia was reckless to search fights in her weak condition, saying that she hates the world and even wants to destroy it. Yes sure girl. If you have such a good mother, she probably won’t hate you. Further I find her a bit weird because she blames her father that she has her left eye. Well, you can’t have it all right? And yeah sure, her father is really a son of a bitch, but he can’t help it if he has a left eye that is dominant..? Luchia really needs some common sense. You can’t hate your parents for bad things, because it’s not their fault either. But in Luchia’s case it is worse. She was picked on because of her flashlight eye. And because of that she thought that nobody loved her. How silly girl. Because she has a dear of a mother, an Oyaji with glasses, a soulless figure and a girl who is trying to grow a spine supporting her. And then she still claims that nobody loves her? Well. I think I can’t really blame her that.. If you are loved by a soulless figure I also would think that something is wrong with that..
Luckily, at the end of the episode she is back normal again and promises that she won’t do anything reckless ever again to find her stupid father, probably to kill him. And just let me guess what has happened with Evil Papa? Hm. If I had to guess I would say that Evil Woman With Glasses has frozen him or something like that and killed him.

The next one for being reckless! Sumire! Running away when your boyfriend tries to make up with you and still wants to be with you?… She thinks that she is weak and because of that she can’t protect him. But she sure did the last time?! It’s only because she didn’t want to become a Berserker at the first moment or else she would have kicked Luca’s ass. After that Sumire thinks that when she becomes Berserker she can just walk into the Flashlight Eye Light of Luchia who is trying to destroy the world. Nice plan! But of coourse because her fragment is so special because it’s the one of Lilith, she manages to stop Luchia from destroying the world in a nice background.

Next one: Oyaji. Telling Sumire totally the past of Luchia without asking her and asks them to save each other because the Enemy will go after their Fragments. But wait a minute. Everyone has a fragment! Why go after only the fragments of Luchia and Sumire? And if people change in Virusses after their Fragment is stolen, what on earth happened to Lilith? … A mystery.

And as last: The Badguys. Trying to make a nice plan to attack Luchia when she is on her own, (she was, of course, otherwise we would have gotten something more stupid this episode), and tie her up with Ice. She doesn’t realise that something like Ice can become water. And water doesn’t have the ability to tie people up. After that the badguys think that they can be smart to piss off Luchia, which allows her to releas her FlashLight Eye Power. And they were almost killed. But not totally killed because otherwise we would have seen a different ending. Duh.

I really beginning to like this anime because of its sillyness and stupidity.^^ I wonder what on earth for stupid things they are planning for the next episode.

First Impression: The Skull Man

Ugh. Trying to lure me with a cool name and with a cool picture. Most of the time of this episode, I was just merely annoyed. No, don’t get me wrong. It can be really interesting with the skull man and that he just kills people for some reasons, and I really liked the monologue of what he was saying, but I have two problems with this anime:

First of all: The art. I do not like it. In fact, I find the art even ugly. The designs aren’t worked out well, and it just annoyed me of how weird all the characters were looking. The art for the background is a little better.

Second, and my major problem: The girl. She annoyed me. Really, annoyed me. I mean, the word "coincidence" has a proper fit here. She is just placing her will on other people and involves everything in what she does, and she walks over peoples boundaries. She thinks that she is a fantastic cameraman and that’s why she hired herself to our main character, who is trying to find the truth behind the Skull Man. But she just needs him, and she is completely dependent of him. Because with him she can enter the city. Without she can’t. Furthermore she is so dominant that she has no manner of politeness or hospitality. Because the maincharacter was just curious about her fake passport, she is so angry that she throws him out of his OWN house. And just add the naked bath scene. How horrible can you be to throw someone out of THEIR houses when they take care of you? Currently I’m believing that she has to be on her monthtly period and that in a couple of episodes she will turn out good. That is what I’m believing, and hoping. I give this garbage one more chance. But the girl definetely needs something done, because I’m really annoyed by this annoying arrogant girl.

But furthermore, the plot is really nice and I like the story. My main problem is just that girl.

This episode: seeing Lucia suffer because her mother is killed on Lucias birthday by a crazy son of a bitch that voluntary changed himself into a virus and is her father at the same time, Lola and that other girl are finally explained and a totally flashback that explains everything of what’s important to know for the climax.

Oh no. Finally had some hope high, but this episode made it really worse again, but still. I had to laugh because of it because they have explained a really important plot twist so easily. Look, I will explain it to you. Nakahashi or something like that was with Luchia’s mother and father disciples of a great mage, but he passed away because of old age. Well. That can happen. But there is more! Apperantly, some land far, far away, the True World exist. And don’t let it be the same place that Luchia is seeing in her dreams, because that would be really stupid. A True World with nothing in it, that would be a true world. But let we ignore that for a moment, shall we? This True World can be obtained by the Fragments of people. To get a fragment, you’ll have to kill them and then take that little stone. Well. Luchia’s mother apperantly had a really, really good nice fragment and Luchia’s father was a son of a bitch and went away for a year and leaving his pregnant wife behind. Also, Luchia’s father had also that nice flashlight Eye, so we already know of who Luchia had that nice Eye thingey. Anyway, that father went away for a year and when he came back Luchia succeeded in becoming two years on 7 July so I’m a bit curious about how on earth she did that. That day was her birthday and there was a chocolate cake and she was really looking forward to it. But. Her father changed in a virus that wants to go to the True World because this world is rotten and stuff like that. The funny thing is that we have never got an example in what way and view this world has become rotten so it was a bit weird to hear that. Anyway. Rotten papa killed his own wife in front of his daughter, took her fragment and thought that he would succeed in leaving this world. Yay! But wait, o no! The fragment dissapeared and was reborn again. And the father left, leaving a traumitized daughter behind that is cursed because she is born out of a virus.

But let’s think for a bit. This episode showed that Luchia and Sumire are born on the same day. But. Luchia is older, because she is no longer in high school. Because this anime is really stupid, we can conclude that Sumire has thé fragment and that Luchia will save her most likely from her death and killing her stupid father. An other argument is that Sumire did pick up that stupid broach, and that was a broach that would lead people together. Because Rotten Papa and mother are supposed to have one soul. Luchia has inherited that soul, and Sumire is in fact the reincarnation of Luchias mama. So… Nice situation, right?^^ It is a bit stupid to reveal such an major plot twist like this so I had to laugh about that one.

A few other notes:  For soulless figures, they sure know how to eat candy, don’t they? That Lola and that other one. Also I find it a bit ironic to name a girl who is picked on because she had the flashlight Eye Luchia, which ironically means "Light". Poor girl.  And of course it’s ironic because Luchias mama did forecast that papa would come back. But only to kill his own wife..

Venus Versus Virus 6

This episode: Seeing Luchia almost with a burn-out, the arguments of Sumire becoming stupider, a fuss about a bunch of withered flowers throwing away, seeing a arrogant guy being defeated by a crazy high school girl, the first attempt for Sumire to grow a spine, and Lucia using her left eye for once.

Finally! After six episodes of totally garbage and nonsense, Sumire finally realises that she has to fight and she may succeed in growing a spine. That for once. She was in the beginning of the episode still stupid, claiming that her lovely boyfriend wouldn’t get hurt (what, just a moment before that the Oyaji and Lola claimed that her boyfriend wasn’t hurt at all..) if she fought better. That is, if she became Berserker sooner. But the Viruses cases became worse, and Lucia currently is on a burn-out because she works too much. But noooooo… Sumire still was in her mental depression and she did nothing in the beginning of the episode. For a moment I thought that this episode could be even worse than the last, and that was a really, really bad one. Lucia almost got herself killed with an annoying boy that I will just call Annoying Guy because I find that name appropriate.
But. For some reason was she moved by the flowers of Lucia and she decided to fight for the ones she loves. How touching. However the reasons may be really stupid, but the last part of the episode showed some more potention.

Let’s just ignore the Deux Ex Machine and that Sumire realised on time that Luchia was in danger (but first of course the sentence: "She sure is late, right?" That was really.. #$%@#) but Sumire just shot herself in becoming Berserker and she has some nice water powers too. Finally. She can control her Berserker too, and to make it even better: Lucia realised that she can do something really interesting with her left yellow eye. If you don’t have a light at your home, just ask her to come over.

I don’t want to ask myself why on earth there is a twin version of Lola, and what is a fragment because I fear those things are really going to be stupid. I guess we will find out later in the anime. They are really stupid with those things, so.. But it was nice to see the first attempt of Sumire to grow a spine! And she realises that their company has to be stronger to defeat those evil dudes. Maybe this can become even better.. Maybe. Let’s not have our hopes too high, shall we? At least this is a funny anime to critisize because of the stupidity.

Black Lagoon review - 73/100

Black Lagoon is an anime about a company guy who gets kidnapped by a bunch of modern pirates. Hoping to be rescued by the company, his company ditches him and leaves him to die. After the kidnapping is over, this guy claims that he is so angry with his company and he has no other place to go, so he joins the pirates instead. He as a company guy has a lot of trouble to change himself into a villian, but to be frankly, he uses his own abilities to help his new company "Black Lagoon" out of some trouble. They live in a violent city, Roanapur, and this anime follows his story and the kinds of jobs and situations. The pirates run a delivery company in that city. It might be a bit weird for us to see, for example "The Churce of Violence" with nuns carrying guns, everyone getting excited for a manhunt for a lot of money, and all kinds of maffia all over the world who gather there. There is no justice in that city, and that’s where Black Lagoon the anime starts.

There are a couple of things that can hold this anime together, because Rock can be a bit annoying once in a while. The first thing is the gunwoman of the company, Levy. She is just pure evil at the first sight and she can kill anything on her way. It’s really nice to see her in those gunfights because the fights are really well made, and it can be an enjoyable time for us to see. The other things are a couple of side characters. Dutch is the leader of the company and his comments and actions are always fun to see. And the other is the nun of the Church of Violence, Eda. And god how I had to laugh because of her. But those are side characters and their backgrounds isn’t lightened out at all, and it’s a real waste.

The cases are really something too. You won’t be suprised to see an evil maid who acts like a robot scaring the hell out of Dutch, Benny and Rock, and Levy trying to fight her. You wouldn’t be suprised to see a gunfight at the "Church of Violence", saying that you should come back when it’s the day of judging and blackmailing everyone. Also you wouldn’t be suprised to see Rock again being kidnapped. He is really good at that. Here lies the good point of Black Lagoon. Several cases with Rock, Levy, Benny and Dutch and a couple of side characters, and they are just trying to furfill their job.

However. The second season is more pointed to some side characters like Balalaika, the head of the Russian Maffia. The action is too much, the blood is too much, the evil things are just too much. We have no Benny and no Dutch and no Eda. The creators tried to force Levy and Rock into a situation and then by some kind of a miracle letting them to be saved. The action was too much and too less blackmailing. It was a real shame because the power of Black Lagoon lies in its imposing characters, and the weird cases. And don’t mention the Engrish. I have tried to understand them, but after a few attempts I just convinced myself that it was a language that isn’t be for humans to understand. It’s such a waste. Black Lagoon started nice, but it became worse in the second season.

Black Lagoon 24

This episode: Rock gets abducted by a high school girl, Balalaika shoots the Kousa with their own guns, the war ended and they don’t even have to kill off the entire yazuka to save Yukio, Yukio meanwhile proofs that she can hold a gun and both Levy and Rock are lucky that they are still alive because I would be more frightened when Yukio pointed a gun at me when I would be when Levy would point a gun at me, Yukio kidnaps a villian, the long awaited fight between Gin and Levy and Yukio commits suicide.

Black Lagoon comes to an end. Even so, I know that I’m really late with this one and I know that the last episode was realised a couple of months ago, still I’m a bit sad to see this one going. It’s one of the anime that I was really looking forward to last year, and now it has ended and the last arc was really bad. It’s a real shame. The creators could have done more then this.

I will be short with my comments, I believe I should spoil those who haven’t seen it that bad, although I believe I will be one of the last persons to see this, because I’m really late with it. I had to laugh once when Rock was kidnapped by Yukio because she is still a high school kid. And always, Rock has to get kidnapped. And I’m always laughing because of it. Rock meanwhile convinced Yukio that she was too smart for her own good that she couldn’t convince herself that she had choosen her responsibility, and there lies his answer. He will be where he stands. And he believes that Roanapur isn’t such a bad place. Of course, a lot of gunfights. But the freedom is absolute.

Okay. No more Black Lagoon. Say goodbye to it, because I doubt that there will be a third season. The last season was in the end really messed up (take a look at the "Engrish". That was painful to watch).

Black Lagoon 23

This episode: Rock doing stupid things, Yukio using her brain to lure Hotel Moscow out and she realised that the base is in a ship, Levy being annoyed (as always) and Balalaika being evil and Rock making her laugh.

Rock is still not really happy with what Yukio said to him the last time and he still thinks he can save this girl from being a villian. He talks with Levy while they are eating and Levy claimed that they are already dead because they don’t have the graps of holding onto life, that’s why they are already dead. Rock as well. And I can see, because he doesn’t really value his life. Hasn’t he learned enough of Dutch and Benny? Remember, with the Roberta arc. Benny and Dutch can at least think to not upset a scary woman, and especially not when it’s Balalaika. But what does he? He upsets her because he claims that the yakuza already is destroyed and they don’t have to finish the last blast to Yukio. Don’t ever order someone of the Russian Maffia around, the idiot. He was almost killed, and he almost killed Levy with him. At least he could make Balalaika laugh and that was his cue to be rescued. I don’t really understand his reasoning, and with this being the last episodes of the anime, I guess I won’t spoil too much.

Yukio meanwhile was being shouted at by the Kousa, and after that she and Gin made a new plan to discover the hideouts of Hotel Moscow. They reasoned that with an armoury that large, they wouldn’t go with the plane. A ship. So the harbor it is. They mimmic a car as the same of Hotel Moscow and rob a bank. After that they eastdrop the police of where the white vans are going. It’s a real smart plan. And do I see it good, but I think our little girl Yukio is deeply in love with Gin, that’s why they are always together and they don’t want to part. They say it’s fun and well. This Yukio is annoying too. The next episode should kill both of them.
I’m interested in what is going to happen the next episode.

Hm. This was a suprisingly good episode. Not only because the most annoying Japanese dude finally died on his level, but also because Yukio finally said something good and because of Rock, and he finally realised that he can’t do a thing for her, he is just meddling with her affairs. But still, the goodyness of Black Lagoon lies with Levy, Rock, Benny and Dutch doing some jobs and the problems that lies between them and that Levy has to save Rock all the time. It lies in the crazy gunfights for no reason and the weird cases. I haven’t seen that here.

We start this episode with the gunfight between Levy and Jumbo, and the gang, and of course the gang looses. It was really nice to see Levy in a gunfight once again, because it has been a while since that happened for the last time. If you ignore her attempts to speak English and just convince yourself that that language is something complete else, you can just enjoy this nice fight. Gin was also really interesting to see, but his art was messed up, a real shame. After the gunfight, they split up to find the annoying Japanese dude who currently sank even lower by shooting his own people. Levy kicked him in the face, and walked away, and he was so angry that he followed her, not even realising that she was leading him towards Jumbo to kill him. I have never seen such an annoying character. Gin did kill him and suprised me with his slicing a bullet in half powers. Levy was also suprised to see it, and we can be sure that the two of them will fight in the next episode or in episode 24. Where Levy is most likely to kill him. Of course. We already said that Gin and Yukio won’t come out of this anime alive.

Speaking of Yukio, she was with Rock, and she asked him why on earth he saved her. After all, he was her enemy. Rock said that he doesn’t want her get involved in this, but he is already too late. She is already the center of it. And more: She choose it herself. Rock was just blabbling of how she could and that she had no choice. But what more can she do? If she can help her whole group, and she is the only one who can, what else can she do but to fight for them? Rock compared her with Levy, because they both don’t know better how to fight and that Yukio is becoming a criminal more by the second. And Levy.. well. If someone is a criminal, she is. It’s also the same with Balalaika, she doesn’t know different of to fight. Rock says that he wants to help her, but he can’t. He can’t save that group, he just won’t lose more memories of Japan. He is in the twilight. Neither choosing for Japan, neither choosing for Roanupar *or something like that*. He hasn’t changed at all because he doesn’t want to change. Levy might be the same one who kills him some day. It was suprising that this überpoetic girl could hit some sense in Rock. Really, suprising. The next two episodes will feature the deaths of Gin and Yukio, of course, and the end of the war in Japan. Black Lagoon becomes a bit stronger, but still it can’t beat the goodyness of Roberta and the Churche of Violence.

Black Lagoon 21

Another "brewing before the storm" episode. This time, we finally saw Gin fighting, Rock taking some action, Levy let Rock do what he wants, and the girl with the glasses being kidnapped. O yeah, we also saw something of the past of Balalaika. It showed that she was always fighting and she didn’t know how to live without it, but I think that flashback wasn’t really at the good timing. It was more like: Oh well, we need to show the background of Balalaika, we have a minute now, on to the flashback! Yay! Kampai. But it was just a bit stupid. Just a bit.

Speaking about other stupid characters, I have to say that Yukio annoyed the hell out of me the first half of the episode. She was just trying to be a yazuka, but seeing her in her school.. well it doesn’t really work. She has a normal live too and to throw it willingly away, it’s a bit weird. The second half I just pitied her. That’s because she was kidnapped by that evil Japanese dude, and really was made being fun of. Poor girl, I supposed she is traumatized by that event. And still she wants to continue. How weird can you be.

The only thing I’m suprised of this episode, is Gin. I must say, for a first annoying looking character, he was pretty cool this time! I really liked how he dodged those gunshots with ease. And I’m really glad because the best character of the whole anime, and the best character of this arc, are joining forces to send that annoying japanese dude off to some really nice place, named Hell. Finally.

Rock annoyed me too because he is meddling with things that he shouldn’t be meddling with. That girl isn’t himself and he can’t protect her from jumping into the villian world, like he jumped himself in that world, and can’t and doesn’t want to turn back from it. He wants to save her, but from what. And more important, how? If he just wants to save her from getting raped, he might do it, but the other things that he wants to save her from, he can’t. The idiot.

Venus Versus Virus 5

Oh no. This is getting more horrible by the second. Really, I have never seen a bitch as dumb as Sumire. She is even stupid enough to not realise that her friend is possesed by something evil and keeps on thinking: "She’s acting weird today.."
Sumire, a lesson: When people just change their style of clothing, wanting to go to shops they don’t even know, wanting to drop everything they touch to annoy you and claim that they didn’t do it on purpose, and combine that with that strange power you have, maybe that person can be possesed by something. Just maybe, just a thought. Really. Stupid bitch.

Yes I know my reason for blogging and even watching this. I’m hoping that Sumire and Luchia come together and that Sumire succeeds in growing a spine. Untill now the creators haven’t been able to make this wish come true. Instead, they focus on the boyfriend of Sumire (and sjeesh, she has no taste at all!) and on a new badguy who is just a badguy because he is a badguy and wants to make Sumire suffer. How corny can be your reason>_>. Sumire was also whining that it was her fault that her friends got involved, but well. Indirect. Yes, she DID pick up that brouch.. But direct.. Is she screaming: Hello evil people please attack me and my friends!
No. She is just blaming herself once again. And she needs to see that people can be possesed when they act different and pick a better place to see your boyfriend and she will be fine.. Sjeesh.

But sure, of cooourse is the Berserker much stronger than this other bitch, Luca, expected. How come such a plot doesn’t suprise me. Although it was fun to see Luca being afraid, that bitch. That will teach her. And further, I can’t really tell anything else that was spectecular in this episode.

Ugh. How horrible can you get. If I knew that this garbage was about to come, I wouldn’t be watching it. But anyway, we’re almost through it, so I’ll watch it till the end. This episode was merely what you would call the "silence before the storm", although some things in this episode weren’t so silent at all. But that doesn’t matter because we all know that Levy is going to be in some pinch, Rock’ll almost get killed and they will somehow survive, just as Balalaika and the annoying characters this episode will be torn down. Thank god. Because, how annoying were they!

First off all, I would like to expres my annoyance against the horrible Engrish. That was SO annoying, and impossible for me to even try to understand it. It seems to me just like Japanese and I don’t even bother and just imagine it’s a language that I have never heard of. Please. The next time they are going to speak English, please do it properly. Onegai! The plans of Balalaika are just corny and based on pure evil, Balalaika is just evil because she is evil and she wants to dance in the hell. Yes. Thank you, nice reasoning. If badguys like that show up, I suddenly lose my interest in an anime. Please don’t make up some not corny reasons to be a badguy. Onegai.

And that girl with the glasses. The pain. The horrible pain. They tried to make a nice, deep thought character out of her, but it sounds to me that she is constantly stoned, that’s why she is babbling so much horse crap. She was even worse then a poet, and most poems are really airly and you can almost put a violin background music to them, but she was even worse. With her arguments I almost wanted to put an hallelujah chore on the background, to make it more funny. It’s clear that she is going to be slaughtered, and to be frankly I don’t care. She is going to be kidnapped, but well. The next episodes are going to be terrible, with too much action. "I’m looking forward to it.."

And of course the other guy who picked a fight with Levy. First off all he doesn’t even look like a Japanese and second of all I would really twitch his neck because his arguments are even worse than Balalaika and I really hope to see his blood in the next episode, by Levi. Arrgh.
How many annoying characters can you make in one friggin’ episode?! Where is the goodyness of Black Lagoon with Dutch, Levy, Rock and Benny? >_> It has passed away, unfortunally.

Yoshinaga-chi no Gargoyle review - 68/100

This is what you would call a weird anime. Namely, it’s about a talking rock statue that vollows his life (if he even has one) to protect a family: the Yoshinaga’s. And it’s a real weird family too, we have a always happy mother, but if she gets angry she has a weird habit to break everything she sees (including the one she is mad about), we have a normal father, he is just an ordinary character, we have a daugther who acts like a boy and has a nickname "agressive girl" with serious kicking skills, and we have a very cute brother who acts like a girl and I just adore that guy.^^ And this is what Gargoyle (hilariously nicknamed to Gar-kun) is protecting. He is made with alchemy, and that is also a central point of this anime. At first, I thought that with Futaba, they have nothing to fear but really. How many criminals showed up in this anime.

You can call this anime messed up. They spent all their airtime to serious cases. At the beginning it can be touching, but they keep on whining about the side characters, instead of focussing on the family. A lot of time is spent to one particular guy: Hyakushiki. He is a villian, a thief, but also a caring father and I have to say that he is quite charming. But he keeps on focussing about the wellbeing of his ‘daughter’ instead of teaching her some nice tricks. I was so glad that he made a proposal to her that she had to steal the bra of the shopkeeper Iyo because that was hilarious.^^ But. Hyakushiki, such a charming and nice character, is most of the time only shown with one side. And that goes for all the characters.

I think that this anime needs a remake. And then be more sarcastically. Because when this anime is sarcastic, it is great and I laugh my head off. But that doesn’t happen, because they focus on the serious drama. And that is such a waste. Futaba is also shown too little, because she is the weirdest girl I have ever seen in a anime, and I would like to see more of her. But, that chance wasn’t given to her. I would like to see Kazumi getting angry for once, and Futaba being embarrased by something. That should be hilarious. I would like to see Gar-kun to threaten more people and using those super laser eyes beams more. But, we didn’t.

Don’t get me wrong, the drama is nice too, but it can be corny once in a while. And those characters have so much potention, it seems like a waste. We don’t watch this anime because of the art because it’s nothing special, the music is once in a while really annoying. I would like to see the characters.
Tell me when a second season or a OVA for a second attempt is announced.

Yes I know it’s a bit late, but better late then never I guess? First of all, this music is so funny! I laughed so hard when I watched it. And I might be mistaking, but is the voice actor of Kona the same one as the one of Becky of Pani Poni Dash? It is that Becky had to whine more, and but you can hear it in Kona too.^^

Further, this anime is about dialogues, but I really like the main character. It’s about four high school girls, without a boy and they are just talking and making fun and talking about how to eat food. ^^
The art is really nice too, I didn’t expect it to be so extravagant. The only problem is that I don’t really know what to say about it. Because there isn’t a boy, no corny High School Romance! Yatta! I’m going to watch it. I heard this is made by the same ‘dudes’ who made Kanon, so I was a bit afraid because of the romance in Kanon. But luckily, it doesn’t seem that bad. And everyone seems really enthusiastic about Lucky Star, and I think they are right.

I think everyone should watch this, just only for the ED. That was just brilliant. I have never understand the thing behind karaoke, but this just did it. Next, I’m going to listen to those ‘brilliant’ lines. And the OP, it made me laugh as well. I’m glad that the main character is an addict to anime, and she reminds me of someone I know.^^ And no, it’s not me, even though I’m a chibiko myself and an anime addict.

And the lay-out! Although I’m still trying to make it look better, I was tired of the old one.^^ I hope you will all like the result. The nice thing about the new lay-out that you can see what I’m blogging and what’s just reviewed. And of course I’ve made a new logo. For the ones who don’t know who that weird cat is, it’s the cat in the vending machine in Pani Poni Dash (kami-sama desu ~nya^^) The previous logo was taken out of a background of Fruits Basket episode 16, btw.

I’m going to be online again in end June, begin July, when the holiday starts again.

Bakumatsu Kikansetsu Irohanihoheto review - 80/100

Bakumatsu Kikansetsu Irohanihoheto is just as the name says: hard to understand. I had a real problem to understand all the difficult dialogues in this anime, and even when it was subbed. Later in the anime I began to see a line in the dialogues and I wasn’t bothered by it at all. In fact, the weird, unable to understandable dialogue, is the worst point of Bakumatsu.

Bakumatsu is an history anime, that takes place in the 19th century, when the land opened its boundaries to other countries. We follow the life of a talented samurai, Akidzuki. And here is the point that this anime takes another turn from the history. We have the an evil Head, the Head of the Lord, that is possessing people for a nationalistic revolution. This Lords Head can be described as a phantom, of a guy who was killed a long time ago. Akidzuki has to kill this phantom and is searching this head. Meanwhile, we follow a theater group who is out on revenge.

I think one of the best points of this anime that you can’t really tell in the beginning who is evil and who is good. The guys who seemed to be good, appear to be the real badguys in the end of the anime. The evil guys are really well made (except for Jubei. He was just annoying) and their motives are all really well worked out. I loved to see Kanna and he jumped from the one side to the other, and of course Sousetsu.

Despite the not understandable dialogues, I enjoyed watching this anime. It is really cultural. That may sound weird, but I love to see different cultures, and with this war periode and also the Japanese theater (Oh, how I adored that!), I never caught myself annoyed when I watched this. You just watch because you want to see what happens, and what the not-understandable parts really are. And because of the art, and the music. The music is one of the best I have recently heard. These creators aren’t afraid to kill one or two characters off the cast, but all this is so really thought out that it almost made me cry.

The other problem with this anime is that you can’t really describe what happens in this anime or review it, because you can spoil this anime with that. I recommend this anime to anyone who isn’t afraid of cultures, and thinks that the dialogues aren’t a problem for him or her.

ps. Yes. I know. I haven’t updated in ages. This last month of school is the most important one, it can decide if I have to leave my school (I can’t double my class again) or that I can go to my final year. In one more week or two, it will all be over. A major update can be expected.:)
