Higurashi No Naku Koro Ni 24 - Some answers

First of all, once again an apology because I haven’t written in ages. That’s because I’m really busy with school. I run also 5 episodes behind with the Third and as soon as possible, I’m going to hold a marathon. Well, with those annoucements done, on to the review.

This was focussed about Tomitake and Takano. They have died already, and Oishi is starting his investigation and because of some particular reason, Rena has to testify what she thinks happens. I don’t know why only Rena is going to testify and not the whole gang because they all saw Tomitake and Takano. But anyway, Rena is suprised that they have died, because the police keeps everything quiet. Was thas also the case in the first arc? I don’t know anymore. And it seems that Rena has also met Takano in the libary. Just like Shion, and Takano gave Rena just like Shion the scrapbooks with all her notes. Takano says with that that Rena must keep this quiet because if ‘they’ find out about her research, Takano is going to be erased. She has done a discovery about Oyashiro-sama, and ’they’ don’t like what that all about is. But how did ‘They’ found out about her scrapbook?

Rena told her about her meeting with Oyashiro-sama. It was really a grose story, that she wanted to hurt herself, so she cut her arm. And with that, maggots came out of her arm, and they didn’t stop with coming, and then, all kinds of bad things started to happen. And then, he appeared and said that if she wanted to survive, she had to go back to the village. And so she did.

After that, Rena seems to be followed. Because of the scrapbooks. The only one she can tell about it, is Keiichi. Rika and Mion are in the Three Great families so they can be part of the following as well. Keiichi wants to support her and he is once again a great friend.

and what is the research of Takano? Oyashiro-sama isn’t a god, he was a doctor. He came to the village because there was a virus (parasite) that made people go berserk. He cured it or somehow like that. But, the virus can be the one so called the curse of Oyashiro-sama. The virus only excist in the village because of the climate and temperature, and if the host leaves, the virus sends all kinds of signals to the host. That can be intepretated as Oyashiro-sama. There are families in the village that worship Oyashiro-sama, and they don’t like that Oyahshiro-sama may be well known as a parasite. They want to recover the fear of their god, and that’s why all the killing is going on. in the end, the whole village will be erased, just for their god. Rena is in danger and the ones in the van go to their house. The same van attacked Keiichi in arc one, and it is said that Irie is involved as well. Irie? How come?

I liked this episode, it was really good to see.

Higurashi No Naku Koro Ni 23 - Friendship

This was one of the best Higurashi episodes thusfar! What happened? Rena kills Satako’s uncle and she kills Rina. That she killed Rina was because she was threatened by her, after they both declared their hate for each other. This case is quite similar with the mother of Rena, telling her that she was going to divorce. Rena was furious and Rina tried to choke her to death. With some nice moves of Rena, she killed her. When she got home, she saw that bitch of a Houjou threatening her father. She lured him to the dumpyard and killed him as well.

The next day, she was going to ‘go home for some things’. She was going to clean up the bodies. Keiichi&Co found it a bit weird, and they wanted to do something for Rena, so they decided to go to the dumpyard to find some really cute junk that Rena loves so much. And they found out. And saying that they would still support her, even she was a murderer. It was so nice to see, really it was. They even helped with cleaning up the mess from the bodies and they went home. The next day, Watanagashi. Oishi in the cliffhanger screen, looking really evil. This is not going to be nice.

I so loved this episode. The meaning of friendship was really exposed. The small problem I had with it is that it has nothing really to do with the first arc. But that shouldn’t be problem because I am satisfied with this as well, but I really want to know what Rena made her act like this in the first arc and what Keiichi made act like this in the first arc and where the **** is Satoshi. That’s all. Oh, and who the murderer is of Tomitake and Takano. That’s all.

Higurashi No Naku Koro Ni 22 - Rena

I’m so glad that the Shion arc is over! And this is so much fun. But I have to confess: I have also homework, so this is going to be a quick review. This episode was in three parts. We see in the first part Rena with the ‘treasure hunting’ and that she has killed someone. Everyone was sad about it and it was a bit vague. I’m so looking forward to the moment that we’ll find out.^^

The second part was about a watergun fight with the club. It was so great to see Rika being cute, and Mion being defeated, Satako and her traps, and Rena and her guts and Keiichi. I’ve laughed so much about it. Rena and Keiichi won the game and the penalty game was even greater! The losers had to serve in the Angel Mort in the weirdest costumes ever and it was so great to see Irie and Rena fangirling about Rika, Satako and Mion. Really, it was.

The third part was the more serious part. I had so much pity with Rena when she was in that bus convincing herself that she was happy. Her parents seem to be divorced, and her mother had the nicest way ever to tell her: ask her who she likes the best and with who she wants to live and if she remembered some guy and that she was pregnant of him. Her mother wanted her to live with her but Rena was so angry that she didn’t want to and so she stayed with her father. Her father has a new girlfriend, Rina. Later in Angel Mort it appears that Rina is a slut, and that Satako’s uncle is her pimp. They live from blackmailing and cheating and with force. They plan to blackmail her father. Rena really got angry about it. Next episode should be a bomb in it. I want to see.^^

Higurashi No Naku Koro Ni 21 - Finally, it’s over!

With this, we end the Shion-arc. Thank god. Because I just loathed this episode, I’ll make it short (and also because I have a whole list of anime I still have to watch.^^) Anyway, the phone that Shion made to Keiichi, was also in her plan to suspect Rika of the curse. Nice thought, so. The next scene, we have the scene what disgusted me out. Satako was in that room, and we can all guess what’s next. Even with the doors open so Mion could do some sightseeing as well, that was nice. I felt so sorry for Mion. I really did. With the 1000 times saying ‘Gomen ne sai’, and Satako saying that she want to be stronger, it was all so said. And disgusting. More details discluded. But it is weird, because the last wish of Satoshi was that Shion protected Satako. This would I do as well if someone said that to me. Idiot.

The day after that, Rena and Keiichi went to her house. And there begun the bad part. It didn’t make any sence because she loathed Keiichi and she holded his arm. It just didn’t make any sence. Shion showed Mion and that was quite correct of the second arc. And also with the rock and so. But it didn’t make any sence left. Anyway, we already know this scene, the only detail is that because Mion talked about the doll, Shion was reminded of Satoshi. So that’s all. She shocked Keiichi when the cops came.

Shion released Mion and they changed once again and Shion forced Mion to jump into the well. And then, we get the interesting fact revealed: Mion liked Satoshi as well, and she doesn’t believe that Obaba was lying. This means that someone out of the village killed Satoshi. The only one I can recall is Tomitake. This can be interesting, anyway, Shion didn’t believe Mion and she shocked her and she fell.

In the hospital, Shion lost her nerves and she planned to kill Keiichi. She stabbed him and she returned to her dormitry in the hospital, climing via the balcony. She fell, feeling sorry for everyone. And that’s that. The most horrible and disgusting arc is ending. I’m so glad that it is over. But what about Keiichi who was stabbed and that Shion came again? Answers please! I’m looking forward to see more Rena.^^

Higurashi No Naku Koro Ni 20 - Sadistic bitch.

With this episode, Shion is a demon more and more. And I hate her more and more. Her arguments don’t make any sence, she is just killing off the whole village, she’s talking to shadows, has suicide tensions, and has a new hobby to torture her victims. I think Mion is going to be on the way soon. The episode started with Shion that called Keiichi. The known conversation, and when Keiichi started to lose it, she hang up on him because ’he was annoying and made her icecream melt’. The most sadistic argument ever. I hate her. Keiichi is nice this arc. Anyway, after that she called the Furude family to inform if the Head had returned and suggested to go search for him. And of course, she didn’t mention that that guy was spending some time in her torture room.

Shion is going to have some fun with him and she starts to get really freaked out once again while she is questioning him. The Head of the Furude family doesn’t have that much power, everything is decided by Onibaba. Who died the first?…
Onibaba. Shion already had her revenge on Satoshi, but for some crazy reason, she begins to kill off the whole village. Well. of course, that does make sence. Is it just me that I can’t follow her arguments anymore or is that bitch just crazy? I hope option 2. Anyway, she goes to the well, and starts to talk to her shadow. Or, the shadow of Satoshi, telling her to live on. That’s the weirdest thing to say to a murderes-crazy-bitch. So we can conclude two options:
1) Satoshi is weird.
2) Shion is just imaginating these things and is creating in her head the perfect Satoshi. Dream on, bitch. I don’t think Satoshi would have approved that Shion is planning to kill his beloved sister.

Anyway, the bitch continues and starts to talk to Mion, and doesn’t believe that she couldn’t do anything about the murder of Satoshi. SHION! THINK! Mion doesn’t have any power, everyone is telling you that. The one that makes the decisions, is Onibaba. She is already dead. Idiot. But Mion is meanwhile losing it, and that can’t be too good. I fear for the life of Mion because I think she is going to be tortured as well before Keiichi finds her.

after that, the only enemies that Shion still sees are: Keiichi (because he knows that she went inside the Shrine), Rika (the next head of the Furude), Satako (if only she had died instead of Satoshi, that argument is really horse crap. It really is. And she thinks that Satoshi would be sad, but all wounds can be healed. She wants to lighten up Satoshi’s heart. BITCH. Shion doesn’t realise that this argument doesn’t cooperate with her. Time heals all wounds. Also Shions wounds. Annoying bitch.) But anyway, the one being taken care of is Rika this episode. Shion attacks her with the question what she knows, and Rika gives her anwers that she couldn’t tie a rope on it. I didn’t understand it either. Her arguments don’t make any sence. In the end, she slaps Rika in the face and she leaves.

In the evening, Rika returns, with a huge bottle because she wants to lend some sauce. Shion says to wait, but the cute Rika has some nice arguments and they both walk to the store of the Sonozaki house. Rika scares the hell out of Shion, because she is so cute. I have to say, with the ‘Mew’, that was too adorable. In the store, we see the real intentions of Rika, or should I say Oyashiro-sama. Rika has found out the intentions of Shion and wants to end it herself, with Oyashiro-sama in her. Rika attacks Shion and wants to use the drugs in episode 4. But, because Rika is only a year of 8 and Shion is a year of 16, Shion wins of course and wants to torture Rika. Rika says that she doesn’t care if she dies, but she doesn’t want to give Shion the fun of her torture. Rika commits suicide. Shion laughs because ’she has won’. Yeah. Sure. The episode ended with Satako that called Shion to ask if Rika was still there. Shion invites Satako and we all know what happens.

I hate Shion so much in this episode. She doesn’t make any sence. Thank god the victims are almost over, and then we are moving to Rena! Yaaay!

Higurashi No Naku Koro Ni 19 - Damn, she’s annoying.

I never thought that Shion could be so annoying and that she could be so idiotic. All in the love of the revenge of Satoshi? Come on, please. The episode started with that Shion realised that everything was planned by the Estate of the Sonozaki’s, so also Satoshi’s death. She got so angry, that she knocked-out her sister with some interesting device (how did she get that, anyway?) and she did the same thing with Onibaba. They went underground, Mion was put into a prison and she was questioned about what she knew of the Estate. Appearantly, Mion is only a spokeperson of Onibaba and the grandmother is making alone all the decisions. That’s it. Because two people are dead now, there have to be two sacrifises. Shion asked Mion about the Shrine, she didn’t know. Nice going Shion! Really brilliance to guess something like that.

After questioning Mion, Shion moves on to Onibaba. Well, she’s dead. Shion gets so upset that she tortures the death body anyway, because she died so easily, without an apology to Satoshi and without suffering any pain. Well. That was interesting, and she keeps on nagging about this Satoshi. Really annoying. But well, she hears the footsteps once more and gets crazy once again. Interesting. She asks Mion about the hidden well and she reveals why she killed Onibaba. It’s not because she is the perpetrator of the murder of Satoshi, it’s because she lied. The promise of the three fingernails, after that Satoshi and she had to be left alone with all the things. It was settled. And even so, the promise wasn’t kept. And that made her furious, and made Mion scared. Shion threatened Mion as well, if Mion had lied, she’ll face some torturing. If she told the truth, she is save. Because we all know what happened in the second arc with the Mion/Shion thing in the end, we can say that Shion believes that Mion lies. Everyone has to take their preparations for the coming episode. For sure.

Shion comes up with a great plan. She tells some people that she was in the Shrine, and she pretends to be Mion. So everyone thinks that Shion has died, while she’s still alive. Poor Mion. And poor Keiichi, because he has to be going as well. Shion scares him with the scenes we all knew, so that’s also settled. I wondered about it in the second arc, now some things make more sence. She even told as Mion the whole Estate that Shion went inside the Shrine with Keiichi. That’s what I call stupid. She said that Shion was taken care of, and Keiichi: Not Yet. Poor Keiichi. She asked the father of Rika to her house because ‘Onibaba had something to tell her’. They talked a bit and it got to the Shion thingeything. Shion had torn out her third nail for herself, not for Satoshi. Satoshi was never mentioned because of his family. Shion got furious and used the handydandy thingeything once again. The preparations are ready for the next episode. Shion is just an annoying little bitch.

Higurashi No Naku Koro Ni - I’ll take preparations for episode 19.

I’ll be honest. I don’t like the fact that might be coming the next episode. In fact, I can’t even pronounce it. Episode 17 showed me that Higurashi can be pretty disgusting. Episode 19, it’s going to be worse. Much worse. We know how Shion and Keiichi and Rika and Satako and just everybody ended? Well. Eehm. Yeah. I don’t want to know. But, the next episode will be watched with a bucket, my wonderful bottle full of water (it helped me a lot with episode 17… great defence of the horrors..), tissues, an empty stomach, and earplugs. If anyone has a great idea that I’ve missed, please feel free to tell me about it.

Anyway, before I already get disgusted out before I’ll see that episode, let’s talk about this suprisingly, pretty quiet, nice, cute, and also fearing episode. Shion continues to go crazy. Mion got by as well, because she felt guilty. Shion said that she forgave her, but the moment when Mion begun about Satoshi, the demon inside Shion woke up. Wait? Wasn’t Mion the one with the demon?.. Ooh dear, this going to be pretty confusing with the time we’ll find out. Even so, Shion had killertensions and almost killed her beloved sister. Untill she saw Mion nails.. Well eeuhm. Yeah. Mion said that it was unfair and she did the ‘***’ as well to please her grandmother and so Satoshi and Shion could live together. Satoshi ran off. WAIT! Wasn’t Mion the murderer of Satoshi?! Appearently, not. Who then? That old hag? A well. We shall see.

One year later, dejavu with the dialect punks. And who’s coming to the rescue..? Satoshi # 2. Oh no, this guy name is Keiichi. Baka. Keiichi showed that he can be really funny.^^ Shion got more information from Mion. Mion is in love with Keiichi. Duuh! And of course, she talked about the notorious-to-Rena-given-doll. That did hurt, and Shion teased her a bit and it was really funny to see Mion so giddly about it. But meanwhile, Shion didn’t forgot about Satoshi. Oh-oh.

The scene after that, was hilarious. Keiichi had mistaken Shion for Mion and Mion saw them holding hand in hand. We saw Shion pulling one arm of Keiichi, and Mion the other one. Shion was so funny and she let go because otherwise her sis would start to bite her. Keiichi thanked her and patted her on the head, and Shion while having flashbacks run off. Mion was just GREAT then, giving everyone tasks like Rena should stand on guard duty, Satako should do the traps, and Rika should throw some salt.^^

Shion, was too upset and for the first time, said she hated Keiichi, she heard the notorious footsteps. I keep on wondering why on earth she is loving Satoshi so much. I mean, how long did she know that guy? I guess 2 weeks. Not more. Adolescent.
Oooh! Also btw, she met Takano in the libary, that gave her more information about the festival. The Wanatagashi was about to start, and Takano already informed her that she went to the Shrine storehouse. Shion already knew what was inside, but she thought that it would be good to see what happened to Satoshi. But she didn’t dare to go alone, and so Keiichi came along as well. We know what happened after that. Shion kept hearing the footsteps, panicked, and at home, she heard Mion and the Old Hag talking about the new victim, Mion looked scary and Shion scared.^^

Will be continued. I fear for the coming episode. This will include what happened to Shion or Mion and it doesn’t look to well. We all know what happened back then. Well. Euhm. Let’s say that I’m a little scared for a episode 17 flashback.

Higurashi No Naku Koro Ni 17 - Finally have the guts to blog about it!

Yeah. I’m afraid of this episode. The reason should be clear. I’ve seen this episode one week ago, and I just couldn’t blog about it. This means that this review is going to be short. And yeah, I have to blog Higurashi 18 as well so I have no chose. Well.^^

In summary of this episode: Shion felt still down because what happened in Higurash 16. Mion called her to say that Satoshi called her, to apologize to her and said to Shion that she had to call him. So she did and they both apologize for what they have done. Satoshi started to act strange, just like Keiichi before did. We know then, Satoshi is going to kill his aunt. Just like Keiichi killed the uncle. And yeah, he killed her, with the bat. Of course. Satoshi asked Mion/Shion to take care of Satako during the Wanatagashi. This makes me wonder, because how did Mion know about Keiichi? Unless he called to Shion without realising it. Or something like that.

After Satoshi killed his aunt, he didn’t run off. Shion hears from Mion that the aunt was killed. Shion dressed up like Mion and she run into Satoshi. He looks really bad. Like he hasn’t slept in ages. Then, things look bad when Oishi comes by. He wants to ask Satoshi some questions about his aunt and we can all see the direction this is going. Shion stands up for him and reveals her true indentity. They go to the policestation, later Shion is picked up by some maffiaguys of the Sonozakifamily. This is going to be troublesome.

Their grandmother is in a rage, and Mion takes Shion to the special basement and we can see that Shion was never been there before. Let’s not talk about the following scenes. Shion revealed her love for Satoshi, and said that she didn’t care for everything. The family was outraged. She had to tear out 3 fingernails because of her mistakes and that she would been forgiven. If not, the people that helped her would see some trouble. Including Satoshi.

Ouch.

After that, Satoshi dissapeared. If he had fleed, or Mion got to him, I don’t know. In fact, I don’t want to know. I was totally disgusted out by this. Naah, I can’t handle this scenes too well. Apologizes for the late review and the quality of it.

Higurashi No Naku Koro Ni 16 - Shion the lunatic

This episode didn’t give me much respect for Shion. If I have to put it bluntly, I would say: DAMN WHAT A BITCH! And she sure is. On the one hand. Her behavior is explainable. Let me tell what happened. This will be all Shion, explaining what happened from her point of view. She escaped a distant school that she attended against her will, and she was seperated from her sister, Mion. An uncle helps Shion, and we see her a bit explain. She and Mion are twins. Duuh. But because of they are twins and there can only be one heir, Shions name is loathed. We can really see that in a picture of two freshborn babies, the one crying, still covered in blood from the delevery, the other one sleeping, smile on her face, clean and in a blanket. Shion is pushed away and her name is loathed.

But even so, she is incredibly close with her sister. Mion even wants to help her out and Shion can go dress herself up as Mion without anybody knows. Because if the family of them finds out, Shion will have some major problems. And that can’t be nice. Her sister talks to her about what happened, and of course, the Watanagashi appears. This is the year before Keiichi arrives, so this year, the notorious Satoshi and Satako’s ‘beloved’ aunt will have to deal with it.

She is completly tired, worn out, and her bag is ripped by some motor cycles. She is so angry that she kicks them all out of the way. She should have not have done that. That is the cause of all the problems for Shion this episode. Of course, the owners come to her, and she is in serious problems. Of course, we have a hero to the action. Satoshi. He tries to protect Shion, and the cops come.

He smiles to her, and pats her on the head. Does anyone see a blond version of Keiichi? *raises hand* At that point, Shion feels that she has some feelings for him. After all, Shion didn’t had a lovable life as the hated one of the Sonozaki family. I think no one except her sister ever loved her. She is just hungry for love, and Satoshi gave all she needed.

In that evening, she asked Mion everything she wanted to know about Satoshi. Mion tells about that he is the son of the Houjou family, and that just being a relative to that family, isn’t a good thing. They are being mocked, bullied, and also the aunt and uncle have to deal with it. Then also have the children of the ones that agreed to the Dam Project, it must only have given hate. The younger sister of Satoshi, Satako, has no good relationship with her aunt and she is completly worn out. Satoshi must have too, but Satoshi is the kind of person that keeps all his thougts in his head.

The next day, Shion goes watching a baseball game with Satoshi and the more notorious bat. After that game, that really tired out Satoshi, Satoshi didn’t return. It made Shion so sad, and she meets Rena. Because of the rain, they find some sheltern, and Rena asks if ‘Mion’ likes Satoshi. Shion answers that she really does like him, and while they are talking, more and more it occures to Shion that Satoshi is worn out because he has to take care of his little sister. She gets so angry with Satako, because she is relying on Satoshi too much. Don’t expect much from a kid of 8. But after some thinking, it is understandable why Shion thinks this way. She has overcome all the sadness that has given to her with her birth on her own, because there was no other to help her. Rena is suprised with the thougts that Shion just blurted out, and then she tells that Satoshi might feel the same way because it’s so sad that Satako relies on him because he is her brother. Rena tells more that Satoshi is feeling the curse.

Shion is kind of scared for Rena, because she is the expert of living with the curse. Satoshi feels it too, because he wants to abandon the village and leave everything. Oyashiro doesn’t aprove it. In this monologue, you can really see how paranoid Satoshi must have been. Shion is so moved by it that she calls Mion asking if she can go to the school of Mion the next day.

The next day, both of the Houjou children just look terrible. Satako is too sad, Satoshi is gloomy. Shion just wants to be friends. When she can’t even talk normally to Satoshi and she sees Satako crying, she gets SO angry that it even scared me and let me loath her for a second.

She beats Satako up. Because she keeps crying and that is the problem for Satoshi that he can’t be happy. A KID OF A YEAR OF 8! What else would you expect from someone that is completly worn out?! She finds a bit of happiness in her brothers live, is that so wrong to do that? I believe Shion is expecting unbelievable things from her.

I loathed Shion right here. How can she completly beat up that poor girl? Rika came to the rescue of Satako when Shion wanted to throw a chair (!!) to her. Shion says that she doesn’t care and has to hit Rika as well. And then, also Rena comes. Shion stops, she is afraid of Rena. Coming to think of it, this might be the reason for the third arc that Satako didn’t ask anyone for help, because she was afraid that she might got beaten up again for it. That must be it.

Satoshi saves his little sister, and asked what did they do? It must have been hard, to have the whole village against you, just because of your parents. It must have been the Sonozaki family doing. Shion is just speacless, with a broken heart. Mion scolds her a bit, and the episodes end.

I loathed at the first sight Shion. Beating up peope IS bad. It’s okay to rely on other, there isn’t much that you can do all on your own. And it can be a support. Satoshi loved his sister, and he loathed the aunt. I think protecting the ones that you love is the right thing to do, even if it’s dragging you with them.

Higurashi No Naku Koro Ni 15 - Rika, the prophet

This episode really shocked me. But well, let me tell about it. We start todays episode with the kidnapped brat. He has pain, so the kidnappers make sure that a docter arrives. Irie arrives, he checks him, and the brat happens to have a surgery scar. Of a traffic incident. More isn’t told about it. Meanwhile, Akasaka and Oiishi go to the same place to find some trails that can be found with the lost wallet. They run into Irie, and Irie tells them that he has seen the kidnapped brat. He tells them the hide-out place, and Oiishi and Akasaka go to that place to suprise.

Akasaka tracks down the one that carries the kid, and after some commotion, he is shot. When things really look bad for Akasaka, Oishi is to the rescue and saves his life. The kidnappers run of, and Akasaka faints.

When he wakes up, he is in the hospital of Irie. Oiishi pays him a visit and they talk about what happened. The kid is rescued and is being taken care for, the damn project has stopped, the minster has the project cancelled, because his grandson was taken hostage. In other words, the two didn’t have to bust in to the criminals, because the kid was going to be released anyway. That’s isn’t such a nice thing. Further, it appears that the two criminals were trained, because they shot precisely, and they couldn’t have pulled of such a fight. Oiishi leaves.

In the evening, Akasaka tries to call his wife because he wants to know what’s going on with her. But, the hospital phone line has been cut. And so is the one outside, so is the phone cells line been cut. Akasaka doesn’t understand it, and he meets Rika once more.
She says that he doesn’t have to call, because he only will be sad. She wants him to go back to the hospital, and they are going to take a walk back. This is the night of the Watanagashi, and they take a look. They are all just drunk. Rika says thatthe Watanagashi isn’t right to be this way, and they go to the highest place of the Shrine, to talk a bit. And then, it is getting shocking.

She says that it’s been decided that in a few years, she is going to be murdered. Just think of it, what shall she be? 5? That you know when you are 5 that you’ll be murdered in another 5 years. That’s a true nightmare. Akasaka doesn’t understand it, he is shocked too, but Rika says that it has already been decided.

A few years later after the year 1983. Oiishi is retired, Akasaka and him have a reunion. What appears? The wife of Akasaka died that night that Rika cut all the phone lines. The child could be saved, but, she died herself. She was looking at the sunset that evening, and when she walked down the stairs, she tripped and fell. She didn’t survive the fall, but she said that she wanted to look at the same sunset as Akasaka, even if he were far away. That’s why Rika told him to go back to Tokyo, or he would serious regret it. It wasn’t a hint for his own death, no, but for the death of his wife. And most of us were fooled that way. I was too.

The reason of his visit to Oiishi is to understand more about Oyashiro-sama and more about Furude Rika. What happened? In the year 1983, after Rika was killed, the village was murdered by the gas. It was because of the reincarnation of Oyashiro-sama was killed, people lost their fate in the god and they mocked the death. Then, the whole village was killed. Just like in the previous arc. The death of Rika is also the same and so on. Then, it’s really getting sad, because we get a flashback of Akasaka what happened more on that night that Rika predicted her own death.

She predicted all the victims of the Watanagashi! How can a kid do such a thing, it was too sad to see, and Akasaka was getting more confused every second.

Even her own death came to the topic. But the strange thing is, that Rika is against the dam project. So why has she has to die? She tells Akasaka that all she wants is to live happily. That’s her only wish. She doesn’t want to die.

Can you imagine? When you are about a year of 5, you know that you have only 5 years more to live, and then that you’ll be tortured to death. It’s horrible. I wonder where the next episodes will be going, there are some people that have survived the gas, like Keiichi, maybe will Akasaka visit them to learn more about the death of Rika. He is too shocked by it. I’m too. It’s horrible.

Higurashi No Naku Koro Ni 14 - Rika

This episode was as priceless as always again. We go back in time, 4 years ago, when the Dam was still constructed. A lot of protest came from the population of Hinamiwaza. The prologue starts with the White little bus (Remember from the first arc) kidnapping a boy, Inukai Toshiki. Toshiki is the grandson of the one that is the Chief of the construction. We already know where we must look. They want to get it away from the media, and keep it quiet. The National Police sends one guy, Akasaka Momaru, to Hinamiwaza. Asaka will be the new main character of the anime. No Keiichi, because Keiichi will arrive four years later to the village. But I have to say, this guy sure looks like Keiichil, only he has a different haircolor, don’t you all agree with me? His wife is in the hospital for a delivery of their daughter. I think we might learn more about that wife during the coming episodes. I wouldn’t be suprised if they were murdered.

Arrived in the small town, Akasaka goes to the police station and meets Oishi. We all know Oishi very well at the moment, and Oishi gives Asaka a tour in the town. He told Akasaka a few things that are concerned in Hinamiwaza. There are three Great Houses in that town. All we know, is the family of Mion. The other is the family of Rika. The power of the Sonozaki family (Mion’s) is the greatest power of them all. We already were informed about that one. The grandmother of Mion commands the protest against the dam.

Oishi is interested in the investigation of Akasaka, and we know this can’t be good. Akasaka rejects the offer that Oishi gives him and calls some people, saying that he is a tourist and would like some sightseeing. The man that he talks to is just delighted to give him some sightseeing the other day.

Meet the younger version of Rika! One has to say, she is incredibly cute at the moment. When Akasaka got off the bus, he saw Rika there, sleeping. She woke up and she became even MORE cuter. I just love her.^^ Akasaka is picked up by the guy that would give him some touring, and Rika comes along. She likes Asaka somehow. Rika asks Akasaka if he is the youngster that wants to get some touring, and calls Akasaka Tomitake#2. We know the photographer of the previous arcs and always gets killed. Well, this is a nice way to call Akasaka. While they are touring, Akasaka takes pictures of almost everything, claiming that it’s interesting to see. Rika asks if Hinamiwaza is fun for him, he answers with yes. That is something that he better not had said.^^ They go to the last place, the Shrine. The Shrine is highly built and you can get some great view there. That’s the moment that Akasaka realises that Rika is the daughter of one of the Three Great Famillies.

The signs say: ‘No dam!’ and ‘Beware! Oyashiro-sama’s curse!’.
Akasaka tells them his political view. He is no activist, because he believes in the power of democraty. If you are against something, find a politcal that is against that too, and vote for him. That is all nice, but votes are once in the four years. Idiot. Activist have no choice to go do something like this.

At that moment, cute Rika clungs at him and says that she doesn’t understand him. How would he stop the people for sinking this town under water. They have no other place to live, it’s their only place. They can’t live in the city. At the Shrine, Rika takes him to the greatest and her favourite spot of the place.

She takes him where the view is the greatest, and Akasaka begins to feel that he doesn’t want this town being sunk under water. And then, Rika get’s a bit scary. She says that it has been decided that the dam project will be gone. Asaka doesn’t understand her, and asks for more. She repeats the same. It’s been decided that the project will be gone this year. Akasaka doesn’t still understand her, and that’s the moment Rika gets really scary!

Oyashiro-sama uses her to speak. He warns Akasaka that he should go back to Tokyo, otherwise he would seriously regret his decision. Rika faints after giving the message.

Akasaka gets new information about what happened the last night before he got here. It was really revealing.

A meeting was there last night, with the important members of the Great Three Families. We see Rika, we see Mion. We see the village Elder. They talk about the construction of the dam, so that’s why Rika said that the dam will be stopped. They talk about the kidnapping, and its logical that they did it because they don’t care about what happens to the kid. It’s quite interesting because they shouldn’t have known because the police didn’t inform the media yet. They say that Hinamiwaza is just like their mother. No one should lose their mother, and they want to fight for it. They also talk that there will be a young man arriving in the town, to investigate it: Akasaka. That’s why Rika already knew that he would be here. Rika was again too cute, drawing a picture of her and Akasaka. The rest decides that they should leave him be, and when he is troublesome, they are taking care of him. The only thing that bothers me is how the police was informed about this meeting.

The next day, Oishi calls Akasaka and says that they found a wallet of the kidnapped kid. Akasaka is right on their way, they go to the place. The last moments of this episode were Oishi putting on a knife proof jacket, and offering Akasaka also one, because when one sticks his hand in a beehive, one has to be prepared. A scared face of Akasaka is the last of the episode.^^ We shall see what will be going on. This was merely the introduction. I loved it.

Higurashi No Naku Koro Ni 13

KEIICHI! YOU IDIOT! This episode had me really that Keiichi is an idiot! Why? THAT IDIOT is walking in the street with an axe! IDIOT! I know he wanted to kill the uncle, and therefore needs his faithful axey, I can understand. But PLEASE, don’t carry it then so obvious! Put it in a box, in a bag, anything, but don’t carry it bluntly in the street.

Don’t carry an axe bluntly in the house, because that would have given some unpleasant situations if Satako wasn’t in trouble.

Satako was the whole night in the shower, counting to 10000. By the time Keiichi reached her, she was on 5037, totally exhausted, with all the damp etc. Keiichi panicks, and after hearing that she had to do that because of her uncle, he goes berserk again with the axe. He’s lucky that Satako was half unconscience, otherwhise this story would have gone something different.

Keiichi brings Satako to the hospital, and he finds out that Irie had killed his self. With sleeping pills. Oishi has been missing. (thank god, son of a bitch). Satako is shocked, but because she only wears a towel, she wants to go to Rika. Rika should have some clothes of Satako. Keiichi brings her, but in the meantime, he gets paranoid and paranoid. Takano burned to death because Keiichi wished for it, same for Irie and Oishi. He even confess the murder of her uncle to Satako. Satako doesn’t really react, and she goes to change herself. Then, the most horrible scene comes.

Guess whose body that is. Rika. And that idiot, still carries his axe. He scares away the birds, but when doing that, his axe fell and covered in blood. Satako returns. Sees the axe with the blood in Keiichis hand, and the body of her best friend. Conclusions can be drawn here. She calls Keiichi a murderer and runs away. Keiichi runs after her, and they come to a small brigde.

Satako doesn’t believe Keiichi and Keiichi FINALLY throws away his axe. The following scene made things clear. Satako told him that she once got into the Shrine, and accidentally broke the statue. Rika was blamed for it. Rika was punished. Badly. After that, strange things occured. Her father died, her mother died, her evil aunt died, her brother vanished. Keiichi appeared. She thought that the nice time would come again, but it was all an illision. Satako pushes Keiichi from the brigde.

Keiichi manages to get a rope, but in the end, he falls, when Satako is crying: ‘Fall, fall fall!’

Then, we go to a place outside, and on the tv is told that the whole population of Hinamiwaza is killed. By poisoness vulcanogas. All, except one, Maebara Keiichi. Of course. A fall from a bridge must be painful, but it would not kill you. And after that, you would have been weak, and you don’t breath that much, so he hasn’t have enough of that gas in his body that could kill him. Who is then the body we saw in the beginning of the arc? Probably Satoshi, killed by Mion, because she is the only one that can torture.

Higurashi No Naku Koro Ni 12

I’ve to apologize. When the time came that I’ve watched this, I was incredibly tired, down, lazy. All I wanted to do was watch anime. But, I’ve to write something about it. With time passing by, I’ve almost forgotten what this episode was about. All I can remember is that everybody says that Keiichi was with them, and that they don’t believe that he killed the uncle. In fact, the uncle is still alive, and abuses Satako still.

Keiichi is desperate and goes to the grave to dig up the body, just to prove himself that he was right. He runs into Oishi, and he is forced to keep digging. When the time came that he was exhausted, they threw him on the floor and he was abused by that asshole. Now comes the fun part: The grave is empty.

Higurashi No Naku Koro Ni 11

This was a painful cliffhanger. Incredibly painful, and how fcked up are you then? Well. Let’s explain what all happened. Keiichi plans to kill the uncle. I think it’s so loveable of Keiichi that he is willing to sacrifise his own life to save Satako. But he might forget something, that Satako might wants to be punished. And if my theory is right, and that Satako indeed did something horrible to her big brother, she must have punished him after he killed her aunt. Because yes, Satoshi killed the aunt. I can not say different then that I loved it. Maybe is Satoshi still somewhere in the wilderness, or he is death. I guess it’s option two, let’s not forget that Keiichi’s body in episode 9 was flooting in the river. Satoshi must have suffered something unpleasant too.

We also learn more about Keiichi when he was digging the hole for the bastard. He is incredibly smart when, but because he is so smart, he was hated. Dead rats were placed in his desk and so on, that’s why he transferred to his new school, where he met everybody. That is just a too lonely past, that because you are smart, you are hated.

The murderattempt went really well, it was perfectly done, and not fake emo looking. But, after the murder, Keiichi can’t find his hole. I’m beginning to wonder that it is Tanako’s doing, because holes don’t dissapear from themselves. He hides the body, and everything, but he is exhausted, so he leaves some tracks. On the way home, he collapted, and Tanako picked him up, and she immediatly saw something and Keiichi had to make a few excuses for it. Tanako brings him home, but he has to leave his bike. In the car, where is a weelchair or something, Tanako suddenly asked if the corps was properly buried. That must have hurt.

Keiichi will suffer something unpleasant, unfortunaly, I’m beginning to really like him. But we know, Tanako will burn to death, they are in a car, she can just easily drive in a tree or something, and Voila!

Higurashi No Naku Koro Ni 10

Omg. How incredibly sad was this ending. I just adore Higurashi at this point, because Satako was so moving. We learn more about the past of Satako, she is being abused by her uncle. She denies that she has been abused and that is so painful and she won’t accept any help. This is her only way of living, and hoping that her brother will return someday. Satako told Keiichi that he looked like her brother. And Keiichi is so worried about her, that she is beginning to lose herself again. Satoshi and Keiichi had in the first arc the same sympthones, remember? Satoshi runned probably away, in order to protect his little sister. He is dead, or he is somewhere in the wilderness. Keiichi is so sweet of her, and that can be a wrong combination at this point. I can so understand how Satako is feeling at the moment. Somebody called again the Child Werfare thingey, and the next day somebody reminds you of the person you loved the most. Satako did something to her brother, or else she wouldn’t have to apologize to much and was her reaction different. She pushed Keiichi away because she was scared that she might do the same thing again, and the thing that she did was so badly, that it made her throw up. She is so incredibly sorry, she was forced to do something to the person she holds the dearliest. Keiichi can fear for his live now, or do something unexpected, or else he may suffer the same fortune as Satoshi did.

I also think that Satako sees the abuse as a punishment for what she has done. It couldn’t be different. That’s why she let herself being so badly treated, because she hopes that her brother will see what’s happening of her. That must be it.

Oiishi was too horrible to imagine, because he was manipulating. He isn’t so nice as we first thought in the first arc. Keiichi is saved by Irie, who tells him more about the past of Satako. Keiichi is so shocked that he asked Mion if she and the curse can’t do anything about it. Mion says she can’t, because she isn’t really involved with this and a murder is a murder.

I also wonder why everyone wants to hold upon a mask and don’t talk about they really feel. I mean, they are making the situation worse for themselves, they are not honest against each other. And poor Satako. I hope that we will find out what on earth she has done. And I fear for the live of Keiichi.

Higurashi No Naku Koro Ni 9

We already know that Keiichi will suffer something unpleasant. This time, we see a body in a plastic bag, flowting down the river, and with the usual stuff we have seen the previous arc with Mion. This makes me wonder, because Mion is the only one who has not lost her mind. Shion did lose her mind, so did Rena. Well well well. This could be interesting in the previous arc, meaning that Shion was Mion and that Mion was Shion. They had exchanged their roles. I think.

Well, this arc will probably focus on the legendary Satoshi and his little Sister Satako and Rena. And Shion? We don’t know. This episode was on the other hand cute, Keiichi who almost burned down his house, and a baseball game, and so on. I begin to feel pity for Keiichi, for one of his friends has no problem carrying an axe, the other has a nice hobby in her spare time to torture some, the other can hit incredibly strong, and the other is an athleet. Nice friends though.

We also learn more about the past of Rena, she has been possesed by the curse, that couldn’t be too nice. Mion tells him everything, normally, and we have our first cliffhanger ever in Higurashi which isn’t scary. Rena was too scary, when she was reminded of everything. I like it.

Higurashi No Naku Koro Ni 8

As I had expected, this is the ending of the second arc. And Woa, what an ending! But still, I wasn’t so moved as I hoped too. Rena could be so much better, and Mion…Mion was great.

Rena comes to Keiichi and scolds him, for what he has done. They run into Oishi, who’s here some kind of bad guy. He was planning to lure Keiichi to the house of Mion, so they have an excuse for busting into the house. In other words: Keiichi is the bait. And with Mion: that could be dangerous. Rena sees this plan and yells at Oishi and they go on their own to the house of Mion, which is a classical Japanese-lookalike house. Mion answers the door, and Keiichi deeply apologize. And then comes the awesomness after Rena brings up the subject of the death of Rika and Sakato.

Mion confesses. There is a demon inside her, there is a demon inside her body, there is a demon inside her name. She killed everybody. It suprised me for seeing her this way, but it was done with a beautiful job. Keiichi and Rena are completly calme, what is suprising to find out that their friend is a murderer. But they still believe that whoever Mion is, she is one of the best friends they have ever had. Mion askes if she can be alone with Keiichi for an half hour. Rena agrees. We have a little love scene, which was good to watch at. I wasn’t bothered by it at all. Mion wants Keiichi to see all the sins she has comitted. Keiichi goes. Shion appeared to be still alive, so he had to go with her.

The next scenes, I will remain in silence for it. I loved the way Shion looked, I loved Mion and how the demon came part of her again. And I was very scared in the last scene before everybody busted in. More I won’t say, people have to watch this by themselve.

Keiichi can go home again, and in the late night, Mion returnes, and the demon takes full part of her. She stabbed a knife in his stomach, and then runs off. Shion appeared to jump of a building, or she was pushed off it. But: Mion was already dead the time they caught her. The death comes to them. The ending was something suprising to me, and I still don’t really get it. But boy, how scary was that. Oh golly.^^

Higurashi No Naku Koro Ni 7

I’m beginning to love this anime more and more. It’s just getting to be SO paranoid. But even so, they can do it better. I love the Shion/Mion concept. I mean, she did it before! So why not this time?! But the big question is: When?

We begin with the episode when the head of the town is missing. On the first question: Why on earth him? He hadn’t to do anything with what Shion/Mion (I’m beginning to doubt everything..) But when Shion/Mion called, everything became clear. Shion or Mion told that guy what she did. And after that, he went missing. Keiichi remembered then he had a conversation with Rika, where they both act like they know of each other. He tells her what happens, and Rika says she will defend him. And she warns him of the elder sister who is angry at the younger sister. Mion is angry at Shion. Looks logical to me.

Keiichi panicks and calls Rika. She isn’t there. He calls Rena, Rena calls Mion/Shion/Whatever. They go to the house of Rika and Sakato. But they are missing. Both. Why on earth Sakato too? She hadn’t to do anything. I think, to see also the intro, Rika is still there, but why Sakato too? I just don’t get it. But both they set up their own dissapearings. Mion/Shion freaked out as well, but it was really bad cheografied. And what is that ‘no blood’ thing she kept repeating?

I also loved Rena in this part, she was really nice and HUMAN (Remember the last arc..) and comforted Keiichi. I love her. The next day, of course, Keiichi rans into Oishi. He tells what happened. Shion went missing too and there was no way that she could talk to that guy. So… I think you know. Also, for Keiichi being the only survivor, he must have done or SAW something the rest didn’t.

I just love the plot twist, and I really feel for Rena and Rika. Not for Mion and Shion. This is all their fault, apparently Mion wants to punish her sister. I just don’t know why. Well.. I just also LOVED the call Keiichi received from Mion acting like Shion. Real brilliance. And too freaky to be true. Who wants to know what will happens next? xD

Higurashi No Naku Koro Ni 6

Alright. After my break, I still don’t have the mood to make a good thing of this. Not because I didn’t like it, just because I’m lazy!

We get a lot of new information about this episode. And what bothers me the most is that those people in town are half demons. That’s very nice to know, that will explain why those weirdos are sometimes in the O.O-state. But still, the first arc with Rena was more horrible then this one. I miss the freaky part.

But those two are dead again, and because Shion (or Mion, what also is a great possibility) and Keiichi went up to the sacred place where nobody was allowed to come. And with good reasons, because that house was filled with the most horrible tools, or to put it blunt: cannibal stuff. I think I don’t have to explain more. The people who disapear.. I think this makes all kinds of things clear. I’m just worried for a horrible scene where Keiichi meets this way of eating. But all I can do is hope.

Because two people are dead, two people have to disapear. And the choice falls on Shion and Keiichi. But Shion is up to something, she is just to weird and why on earth would she take him to that place? And why would Mion hide the past of the town? It’s just al weird.

We have also of course the Watagashi, and Rika messes something up, which can’t be good for the future.. I also think Oishi is in the complot this time, I just hope I’m wrong.

My theory is that Mion and Shion because of their familybond with the maffia, and Mion being the heir of that, and Shion being in controle of her sister, makes up that Shion was Mion and Mion was Shion and that Mion was all behind this. It would make a lot of sence to get rid of her sister, but still, I have to figure out. This was nice to watch!
